Dave Evans tells the story behind the song Pretty Green Hills and then sings it for us while he plays the guitar. It was the first time I had ever seen Dave play the 6 string.

One thing that got my attention was the vocal style used by Bluegrass singer’s. If you hear a Mohawk, or Pawnee song, you will hear the same long drawn out vocalization’s! This is why I think American settler’s,(who met alot of woodland tribe’s), copied the popular vocal style they heard all the time from the camp’s around the town! It’s nothing like the wild Plain’s style singing which can be really high pitched and aggressive!
